1RR 7.19 - Sunflower Vase, 2019
Sunflower Vase, 2019 by Richard Rooze
This object is inspired by the vase on the painting of Vincent van Gogh, Fourteen Sunflowers, Arles 1889, Painting #F458, Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam
The original pots mainly come from Provence, in France. They were used for preserving different types of meat, but mainly duck or goose, for the dishes Foie Gras and Cassoullet. The pots are usually only half glazed because they were buried in the ground, so the meat stayed cooler and therefore fresher. You have them in different sizes, including very small ones, but they are very rare. The pots are from around 1850, so very old! The beautiful, warm ocher yellow color that matches so beautifully with the many gold tones from the Provence.
For this version in glass, the sunflower is the right choice and thus becomes a wonderful addition to your interior.
