Luminous C-150 Serial Number 2 - Full color on a Black Background

Luminous C-150 Serial Number 1.  Full colour glass cubes on a black background.

Glass and the perception of brilliant colours.

Colour is essential to our perception of light. The dominant wavelength of the light determines the pigment or  the nature the colour we perceive. Colours therefore have a natural sequence, which is also reflected in the rainbow, with wavelength ranging from short to long and the perceived colour shifting from cool to warm. A colour is only accurately defined when three dimentions are taken into account: pigment, saturation and brightness.

In this C-15 series number 1, where colour is applied to a black background, the contrast is particularly striking. Semi-transparent coloured blocks on a black-coated Dibond panel.
